Swarovski Crystal Vision - contact lens
October 26, 2008 |
Beautiful Swarovski crystals are everywhere. So brilliant in appearance, they are the perfect adornment for luxury lingerie, designer sandals, leather handbags, and fashionable eyeglasses. But one designer has gone a step further with designer eyewear and actually won second place in a Swarovski crystal competition for his crystal embedded contact lenses. Sponsored by designboom and Swarovski, the contest winners’ names and products were published earlier this month with “Sparkle”, by Anthony Mallier of India, taking second prize. This is a wonderfully, inventive creation with Swarovski crystals fused into the outer edge of contact lenses. The crystals radiate beauty and charm giving the eyes a sparkling luster. Because the designer feels that the eyes are the most expressive part of the body and have a message to convey, he felt it more appropriate to bring dazzle to the eyes. Coupled with Swarovski’s magnificent qualities and well sought after appeal, it was a perfect match to pair the crystals with contact lenses. Winning such a top position in the “Crystal Vision” themed contest is quite prestigious as Anthony was chosen from close to forty-one hundred entries from over ninety countries. In fact, it was so difficult to choose winners that the announcement was delayed in order to adequately review all the deserving entries. Two of the requirements were the ability to package the products and to sell them as over-the-counter items when they are placed in the new SWAROVSKI concept store. Second place prize was Euro 3000 (roughly $4300 US). beautifull isn't it?

Timex TX54 - Nail Watch
October 1, 2008 |
This unique watches have strange shapes and design. The Nail watch, watch that can be worn on the thumb. You may have never seen a watch that can be worn on the thumb but times are going to change thanks to Timex. Timex, in collaboration with Core77, held a global design competition called 2154: the future of time design. So what we are seeing here is the TX54 concept which was a runner up there. The TX54 concept presents a disposable timepiece that can be worn on the user’s thumbnail making it an invaluable fashion accessory as well. Thanks to a translucent body, the design blends seamlessly with the nail while a selection of text color options and a glow feature activating on command make it supremely functional as well. Press the end of your thumbnail, and the watch will light up for you. A perfect blend of appearance, user interface, and technology, the nail watch passes most standards of modern design with flying colors thanks to its functional and minimalist appeal. www.thedesignblog.org/entry/timex-tx54-disposable-nail-watch-design-concept/

Replace Into - MySql Query
August 2, 2008 |
I like using this syntax in MySql coz it have a simple syntax and so efficient when I want to insert a record but if it already exist, it'll update the data... but it not too recommended, coz from the statement below.. REPLACE INTO will slower the performer...
Mechanism ::
1. Try to insert the new row into the table 2. While the insertion fails because a duplicate-key error occurs for a primary key or unique index: 1. Delete from the table the conflicting row that has the duplicate key value 2. Try again to insert the new row into the table
Syntac :: REPLACE INTO F SELECT * FROM T; REPLACE INTO F(a, b, c) SELECT a, b, c FROM T; Summary: REPLACE INTO becomes more efficient from DELETE FROM… INSERT INTO… but much slower performer than an UPDATE statement. Better use “INSERT … ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE…” as an alternative if you’re looking at a single unique column table (Primary Key).
